Pic of the Week 10-8-07
Here is a pic of one of George Edwards Brockways from Elmhurst, PA. If you've been to any of the local northeast truck shows in the past two years, chances are you've seen a '42 Sterling chain drive mixer that George just restored.
I not exactly sure what model this truck is, but here is my guess... Based on the grill guard with every other bar removed, I believe its either a '52, '53, '54 etc. (My '55 was made late in '55 and it had the small grill guard with the letter 'B' in it, and I have a '50 260XW with all the bars in it.) As for the model, I think it's a 255W since the headlights are mounted down on the frame close to the grill and it has the long hood. So it probably had the 513 overhead valve Continental gas engine. I'm sure Steve S. could help identify the model, but he is also having trouble posting messages on the board and replying... Picture courtesy of the Jack Alt collection.
