Pic of the Week 11-9-09
For pic of the week, I have the most recent addition to the Millard and Son's truck collection... this 1976 N761TL-91029!
I found the truck for sale locally a few weeks back as was able to bring it home this past Saturday. We are still working on digging up the history on this truck and I am requesting a copy of the chassis record from the Mack Museum. Here's what we do know...
The truck originally was owned by Hughey (Heuy?) in Tunkhannock PA and used to haul coal. At some point, the original 290 (or 270?) Cummins was removed and replaced with a 335. It has a 13 OD Roadranger trans with a Rayco Suspension and light rears (18k each). It's has a single frame and is in fairly good shape for it's age. The last owner used it to pull a low boy but replaced it with a Freightliner due to it's short wheelbase. The truck was last inspected in June of '09 and from what we can tell is still road worthy. Have no fear, we are still full steam ahead with the 361, but we couldn't pass this one up.
